ID: 16697, JBuilder 5 Tomcat 4.0 Fix - disable Tomcat's JNDI naming service

by Josh Fletcher Email: Anonymous

Allows Web Applications to easily access EJB's when running under Tomcat 4.0 (since Tomcat 4.0's built in JNDI naming service can cause problems).

This update addresses the following problem in Borland JBuilder version 5 Enterprise:

Web applications that need to access EJB's will usually fail on the lookup for the EJB with a NameNotFound exception when run under Tomcat 4.0. This happens because Tomcat 4.0 has its own JNDI naming service (which is started by default). Since your EJB's are most likely being registered with your application server's naming service, your web applications will be unable to find them.

This update simply disables Tomcat 4.0's JNDI naming service so that your web applications can access your application server's naming service. This is done by passing the "-nonaming" argument to Tomcat 4.0.
