Create a virtual index on Pascal typed files (file of structure). The technique is demonstrated using Apollo but will work with many alternate xBase drivers - including the BDE.
In addition to indexed access, this technique brings such capabilities as filters, queries, file and record locks, and data-aware control capabilities to binary file access.
