Description
|
This program was retrieves the local NetBIOS status for one of this server's or workstation's network interface cards (network adapter).
The NetBIOS specifications indicate that the maximum number of network adapters and NetBIOS names is 254, but I have limited the number of network adapters to 9 and the number NetBIOS names to 20 names in this program. The program works on a Windows 2000 workstation, but for some reason that I have yet to determine I can't get any NetBIOS commands (NCB.ENUM, NCB.STATUS, etc.) to work on a Windows XP Professional workstation unless I issue a NCB.RESET command first. I have tried turning off everything but Microsoft Clinet and TCP/IP (File and Printer Sharing, QoS Scheduler, etc) for each of my workstation's network adapters, but this does not correct the problem. This problem defeats the purpose of doing a NCB.STATUS command since it resets all of the adapters NetBIOS status information. Please post a comment for this program or email me at sicture@socal.rr.com if you figure out how to resolve this problem. I am stumped, so your comment will be sincerely appreciated.
